Snowboarding in Japan!

So we went snowboarding on Saturday. It was SUPER fun! We went to Kandatsu, which is about 4-5 hours away. I worked at the Outdoor Rec Center up until last Friday and ORC does a lot of trips for the people on base. It is a bit cheaper to go with them cause if we went on our own we would have to pay a million yen in tolls. So we went and had a great time. It began with a small disaster. We got up the first lift and Brian goes to strap in and his binding broke... he went down the mountain to get new ones, but they didn't have the right kind. He was able to fix it himself somehow and went to strap in again and the other broke. Ugh. All the while I am with some friends who have never been before, trying to teach them how to snowboard. Finally around 10:30 or so we made it down one slope and found Brian and he had just fixed his board. SO off we went. The board worked good the rest of the day and we had a great time!

He's gooood.

Naturally, i am a snowboarder.... but recently, i took one for the team (family) so we could all get some down hillin fun in. Winter sports makes living in this cold crazy place much easier. The little tikes did pretty well considering their age. Jake is one of those kids you see flying down the slopes somewhat out of control, but still able to look like he is doing fine. Pretty cool that you can snowboard over there, didn't think it got cold enough for some reason. I guess when i was in Korea for a few weeks it was plenty cold. Anyhow, looks like tons of fun.
