Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July everyone! I had to work until 6pm, but after work, I went home and picked up Shugo. I was hoping that he would be ok with the fireworks cause I know dogs freak out with that stuff. So we walked around for a while, and then sat down. Once the fireworks started he was definitely scared. He got up and was trying to back away, pulling on me a lot. I pulled him close to me away from everyone else a bit so he wouldn't jump on them in fear. He sat with me and was shaking a bit, staring very wide eyed at the fireworks. After about five minutes though he settled down and was fine. He laid down and stopped shaking. In the beginning there were kind of a lot, but then they weren't doing too many at once. Every now and then they did a lot and he would start to shake again, but he did really good. I am really glad I brought him cause it was fun, and good training for him.

So now I am home and I just talked with Jonathan on Skype. Cami is so cute... she gave the funniest look while looking at the computer. So stinkin' cute. I actually think that face reminds me of David... we have that old Christmas video of him standing directly in front of the camera unwrapping a girlish gift that Jon gave him... he was not so happy and I swaer he had the same confused chubby look on his face. Awesome :)

I hope you all have a great 4th! Get out and see some fireworks! Just to clarify... obviously Japan does not celebrate the holiday and I was watching the fireworks on base :) just in case anyone was confused :)

A beard... only when he is gone

So apparently on the ship they were selling these $5 you can grow your beard out thingys... Brian said he didn't buy one at first cause he didn't want to look sloppy even if it was ok, but.... then people were making it into a contest to see who could grow the best beard. Of course he could win... he' super hairy! So he bought one and look at it grow! I don't know, but something about a little scruff on a man is sexy.... and especially if they are in uniform :) Of course by the time he ever gets home he will, I am sure, be shaving. LAME.

I am not sure why but his nose in the top pic looks enormous... must be the lighting. But what did I tell ya about him "smiling with his eyes" Hilarious!

Three Years...

Of course I have to throw this in here last... a little backwards, but one other super cool thing about Brian is he can grow a beard! (that is before he joined the Navy anyway...) By the way... I don't think I am really THAT short... he had to have been standing on a snowball or something.

Yes it is amazing! It has been THREE YEARS! Wow... time flys. So let's see... Three years ago we lived in Santa Barbara and got married. Since then we have moved around a bit and had ALOT of changes and even more adventures! I don't really feel like typing our long life story, so I am going to have a ton of pictures instead. Brian is out to sea right now of course so I am here with Shugo. I was going to go riding to celebrate, but it is raining :( But tonight I am going to dinner with a friend to celebrate. We have no idea when brian is coming back. There schedule is always changing. One day they might be coming home soon and the next they plan to be out for another month. So, no worries, whenever he decides to come back we will celebrate then!
Some great things about Brian that you all may not know are.... first he loves ice cream as much as I do :D Yay! I realize this is not ice cream... but somehow I don't think I have any pics of him with ice cream... I don't know how that is possible.
Of course he has to get along with my horse. Though he is not a rider, he will go out with me to ride once in a while and he has definitely done some stall cleaning and feeding :) And Almond seems to like him.
Of course we graduated together.... this was right before our 1 year anniversary. Yay, for getting our degrees, but we still have so much to learn :)
He jumps off a bridge when I tell him to :)

He likes to "smile with his eyes" (his words not mine).
He clearly always loved Sandy, even when she was wet and slobbery :)
He even risked his life to save hers once. This was on our failed first anniversary trip. It's a hilarious story... we wanted to go camping where we could be near a lake to swim in... of course me being new to SoCal I didn't realize how lame it was and that there were no lakes you could swim in. We ended up in freaking Nevada (In July) pretty much almost killing Sandy with 115 degree weather. Once we got to the lake things were better, but in the pic below... to the right there was some mud. ALOT of mud. Brian and I swam to the other side of this little spot. Sandy of course did not like to swim much so she was going to walk around. Well... little did she know that the mud there was like quick sand, and being a St. Bernard she sunk fast. The more she struggled, the deeper she got. Brian was very quick to rescue her though. He did a nice army crawl through the mud keeping low so he wouldn't sink in himself, and got her out. Some other people there at the lake also jumped in the mud to help out. It was the NASTIEST smelling mud you could imagine. SO BAD. But luckily we were at a lake and Brian and Sandy were able to rinse off and all was fine.
He likes to be silly and dress up once in a while for me :)
He is GREAT at mowing the lawn :)

And best of all! He hates mushrooms as much as I do! So yay for our three years of marriage. No kids yet and I HIGHLY doubt there will be any on our fourth year either.... it's at least not in our plans :)
